QR Type

URL

Encodes a web address. Scanning opens the URL in the device browser.

Text

Encodes arbitrary plain text. No app or browser required to read it.

💡Great for short messages, discount codes, or instructions printed on packaging.

Wi-Fi

Encodes Wi-Fi credentials (SSID, password, security type). Scanning connects the device to the network automatically on iOS and Android.

💡Use WPA/WPA2 for modern networks. Leave the password blank only if the network is open.

vCard

Encodes a contact card (name, phone, email, company, URL). Scanning prompts the user to save the contact.

💡Ideal for business cards and event badges.

Dot Style

Square

Classic sharp-cornered square modules — the standard QR code look. Maximum scanner compatibility across all devices and apps.

💡Use Square for any context where reliability matters more than aesthetics: print, outdoor signage, or older scanners.

Dots

Circular dots instead of squares. Creates a softer, more modern look while remaining fully scannable.

💡Popular for branded QR codes on consumer packaging and marketing materials.

Rounded

Square modules with gently rounded corners. A subtle refinement that looks more polished than standard squares.

Soft

Fully rounded pill-shaped modules. More stylised than Rounded — each dot becomes nearly circular but retains its square bounding box.

Classy

Square modules with one corner angled inward, creating a flowing directional pattern across the code. Distinctive and brand-forward.

💡The directional cut gives the QR a sense of movement. Use with high contrast colours for best scannability.

Classy+

The Classy cut combined with rounded corners — a softer version of the Classy style. Balances personality with approachability.

Foreground

The colour of the QR dots and corner markers.

💡Maintain at least 4:1 contrast ratio against the background for reliable scanning. Dark-on-light is most compatible.

Background

The colour behind the QR dots.

💡Avoid transparent or very light backgrounds — many scanners expect a solid background.

Logo Overlay

Logo image

Overlays an image in the centre of the QR code. PNG, JPG, and SVG are supported (max 2 MB).

💡Always use Error Correction H when adding a logo — the logo obscures dots, and H provides 30% redundancy to compensate.

Logo size

Controls what percentage of the QR code area the logo occupies (10 – 40%).

💡Keep it under 30% for best scan reliability. Larger logos cover more data dots.

Error Correction

L — Low (7%)

Up to 7% of the code can be damaged or obscured and still scan correctly. Produces the smallest, least dense QR code.

💡Use only for clean digital screens where no damage is possible.

M — Medium (15%)

Up to 15% damage recovery. Good balance between density and resilience.

💡The default. Works well for most print and digital use cases without a logo.

Q — Quartile (25%)

Up to 25% damage recovery. Denser dot pattern, better for outdoor or textured surfaces.

💡Good for stickers, fabric prints, or any surface with physical wear.

H — High (30%)

Up to 30% damage recovery. Most resilient, densest pattern.

💡Required when using a logo overlay. The logo physically covers dots — H gives enough redundancy to recover the missing data.

Export

Export size

The pixel dimensions of the downloaded PNG (512, 1024, 2048, or 4096 px square).

💡Use 1024 px or larger for print. 512 px is sufficient for digital-only use.

PNG download

Downloads a raster image at the selected export size. Best for uploads to Adobe Target Content Library or any platform that requires a fixed-size image.

SVG download

Downloads a vector image that scales to any size without pixelation.

💡Ideal for large-format print (banners, signs). Always renders crisp regardless of output size.

Copy to clipboard

Copies the live 256 px preview as a PNG directly to your clipboard. Available in browsers that support the Clipboard API (Chrome, Edge).
